Team Rules, Code of Conduct, Attendance & Behavior Standards**

1. Team Rules

  1. All players and families are expected to support the mission, values, and standards of SoCal Snipers.
  2. Players must respect coaches, teammates, officials, opponents, and staff at all times.
  3. Coaching decisions regarding playing time, positions, and roles are final.
  4. Players are expected to arrive prepared, on time, and in proper gear.
  5. Team uniforms must be worn as directed for games and events.
  6. No player may participate in outside basketball activities that conflict with team commitments without prior approval.
  7. Parents and guardians may not coach from the sidelines or interfere with practices or games.
  8. Communication with coaches must be respectful and follow proper channels.
  9. Failure to follow team rules may result in reduced playing time, suspension, or dismissal from the program.

2. Player Code of Conduct

Players represent SoCal Snipers on and off the court.

Players are expected to:

  1. Display good sportsmanship at all times
  2. Follow instructions from coaching staff
  3. Encourage teammates and maintain a positive attitude
  4. Practice self-control and emotional discipline
  5. The following behaviors are not permitted:
  6. Disrespect toward coaches, officials, teammates, or opponents
  7. Profanity, taunting, or unsportsmanlike conduct
  8. Fighting or physical altercations
  9. Use or possession of drugs, alcohol, vaping devices, or weapons
  10. Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behavior
  11. Destruction of property
  12. Violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal with no refund.

3. Parent & Guardian Code of Conduct

Parents and guardians play a critical role in setting the tone for youth athletes.

Parents/guardians agree to:

  1. Support all players and coaches positively
  2. Allow coaches to coach and officials to officiate
  3. Address concerns respectfully and privately (never during games or practices)
  4. Follow the 24-hour rule before discussing emotional concerns
  5. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
  6. Yelling instructions from the sidelines
  7. Arguing with officials or opposing teams
  8. Public criticism of players, coaches, or the organization
  9. Aggressive or confrontational behavior
  10. Parents who violate this code may be asked to leave events, and continued violations may result in player suspension or dismissal.

4. Attendance Expectations

SoCal Snipers is a commitment-based travel basketball program.

  1. Attendance at all scheduled practices, games, tournaments, and team events is expected.
  2. Players must notify coaches in advance of absences.
  3. Excessive absences may result in reduced playing time or suspension.
  4. Unexcused absences may impact team role and tournament participation.
  5. Acceptable excused absences may include:
  6. Illness or injury
  7. School-related obligations
  8. Family emergencies (communicated in advance)
  9. Vacations, social events, and other sports commitments are not guaranteed excused absences.

5. Playing Time Philosophy

  1. Playing time is earned, not guaranteed.
  2. Decisions are based on attendance, effort, attitude, development, and team needs.
  3. Equal playing time is not promised, particularly at older age groups and competitive events.

6. Discipline & Enforcement

SoCal Snipers reserves the right to discipline any player or family whose actions negatively impact the team or organization.

Disciplinary actions may include:

  1. Verbal warning
  2. Reduced playing time
  3. Suspension
  4. Dismissal from the program

All decisions made by SoCal Snipers leadership are final.


7. Acknowledgment

  1. By registering with SoCal Snipers Youth Basketball Organization, players and parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to abide by all team rules, codes of conduct, attendance expectations, and behavior standards.
